When looking for a gift for a partner I want it to be something that they genuinely like and will be a true surprise. Being told what to buy really takes the fun out of gifting and definitely reduces the chance of having excitement when seeing Christmas presents under the Christmas tree. This Gift Guide is short but sweet, I am not just adding random stocking fillers, these are gifts that I have either previously received or would like to receive and the aim is to give the gift of something that they will use daily for years to come or see daily and think of you (and how kind and thoughtful you are).

1: Kitchen Knife from Labour and Wait

Now how many times do you or your partner dice an onion or chop a carrot and the knife is just...rubbish.  And it feels too much of an extravagance to buy a new knife because your current one does still cut the thing, eventually. Well, here you have an excellent knife (that I also have) and it really is an unexpected gift that they will use weekly if not daily and will be thankful for your thoughtfulness.

2. Ceramic Pencil Pot from choosing Keeping

A beautiful Christmas gift if your partner works from home. It's something that they will see everyday and will put a smile of their face. As I write this I can count 8 pencil pots surrounding me at my desk and if i'm being honest, I could do with a couple more.

3. New English Interiors Book from Daunts Bookshop

I am a sucker for a good coffee table book and this one is definitely on my Christmas wish list. There's nothing better than having a cuppa tea on Boxing Day in your new pj's and slippers and leafing through this whilst eating a left over sandwich.

4. Faux Fur Heated Blanketfrom The White Company

Don't be fooled by the mild weather we have in the lead up to Christmas, January to March is when the cold really settles in. My brother bought this for me last Christmas and it was a real treat whilst working at the desk and not moving for hours at a time.

5. Hair Care Gift Set from Le Labo

I know this seems like it lacks any thought or effort but hear me out. I tried the soap, shampoo and conditioner the other week and I kid you not, these products are the best I have ever used. My hair was so silky smooth afterwards and smelt amazing. It's not something I would buy myself, as it's not super cheap, but I would be so, so happy if someone bought this for me as a Christmas present.

6. Crystal Blob from Bindle Store

A small perfectly formed reminder to not take life too seriously. I have always liked Studio Ahroj and how they make beautiful things that you would find in a grown-ups home but with a fun side to each unique piece. a great stocking filler or Christmas present.

7. A blanket from Melin Tregwynt

A beautiful addition to add warmth to the home. These welsh blankets are pretty special, being made in the same mill for over 100 years.  And there's nothing wrong with a little encouragement for a snuggle on the sofa with your partner watching a Christmas film.

8. A record from Sister Ray

This works if you have a record player but it's also a great way to add art to your home. And if you don't have a record player, that could be an excellent Christmas gift for your partner too.

9. A flower subscription from Petalon

It's a Christmas present that continues month after month and will never fail to make your partner smile and brighten up their day. A super easy gift with maximum impact.

10. A handmade sketch book and sketching pencil from Nicely Done

We have a selection of colour ways from the brilliant Odd Orange, whose sketchbooks are hand made with fabric covers and a colourful print on the inside. And an excellent accessory to this Christmas gift is the Kaweko Sketch Up Pencil in a brass finish. It's a little piece of luxury in your hand.

Every piece in this Christmas Gift Guide for Partners comes from a small business (wityh the exception of the blanket but it really is amazing), chosen for its thoughtfulness, originality and heart. This Christmas Gift Guide is designed to move beyond predictable presents and focus on meaningful details your partner will truly treasure.  These aren't just items to unwrap; they're every day reminders of the connection, care and intention. Whether it's something practical, sentimental or quietly luxurious, this Christmas Gift Guide celebrates gifts that spark joy long after December.  The hope is simple: when they use it or see it, they think of you fondly, again and again.
